I love Amy Jarecki’s books, and this one is my favorite so far. A heroine who isn’t perfect, a hero who loves her how she is, and braw highland warriors make this book everything anyone would want in a romance!

In 15th century Scotland, Gyllis Campbell arrives at the Beltane festival with one thing on her mind—to win the heart of Sir Sean MacDougall once and for all. Astonishingly, Sir Sean would like nothing more than to oblige the lovely lass.

But when news of his father’s death arrives, Sean races for Dunollie Castle. Unaware of Sean’s tragedy, Gyllis departs the festival thwarted. Worse, a terrible illness strikes her down, and she’s sent to the cloisters of Ardchattan Priory for healing.

Plagued by raids on his lands and deception in his ranks, Sean is embroiled in a battle to regain control. Pulled in a myriad of directions, adversity runs rampant as Gyllis struggles to regain her health and Sean battles the very demon who covets his title. Fighting for their lives, both must prevail before their love can blossom.

highlander redeemed                                            4 STARS

I have loved the Guardians of the Targe Series and this third book is wonderful! All the elements of a great Higland love story are here: the buff highlanders, a conflict with the English and a bit of magic.

Scotia MacAlpin may be only eighteen years old, but she’s no stranger to trouble. Her latest incident—which resulted in a death and forced her clan into battle—has made her an outcast among her exiled people. Scotia is tired of being ignored and overshadowed by her sister, a gifted Guardian of the Targe, and she’s become hell-bent on destroying the army out to capture the ancient Highland relic for their English king.

Duncan of Dunlairig has looked out for Scotia since she started to walk. She was as restless and reckless then as she is now—only the stakes have become higher and more perilous. While the rest of Clan MacAlpin ostracizes her, Duncan secretly helps Scotia become the warrior she yearns to be. But the real test of her skills may come when he needs her help—and her long-forgotten heart—in this thrilling and romantic Guardians of the Targe tale.

summit of sedution                                     5 STARS

Summit of Seduction is another beautiful love story by Elena Aitken. It has love, uncertainy, sorrow and loss and touches every emotion inside you as you read. I have loved all of Ms Aitken’s books and recommend every series as they build on each other and old friends are brought along into the new books.

With a sick mother, the bills piling up and her best friend leaving town in the middle of it all, the last thing Cynthia Giles needs in her life is a man. Especially one like Seth McBride. Sure, he’s sexy as hell and the memory of what his strong hands felt like on her body keep her up at night, but that’s exactly why she needs to keep her distance. It was one time…okay twice…but it can’t happen again because Seth represents everything she doesn’t need.

She isn’t his type. Not even close. Seth likes his women blond, wild and without any expectations for a relationship. But there’s something about the smoldering redhead that Seth can’t stay away from. Neither of them meant for anything to happen between them, but it did and ever since, Seth can’t get her out of his head. And he’s almost positive Cynthia feels the connection, too.

He might even be able to convince her to admit she feels the same way. But when Cynthia discovers a truth that will rock both of their worlds, all bets are off while they try to navigate their new future.

KILTS AND DAGGERS by Victoria Roberts

Kilts and Daggers                                                                   5 STARS

I love these characters! Grace is sassy and not afraid to say what she thinks. And I could feel the “sweetheart” personality underneath the warrior just rolling off of Fagan! I was spellbound and hated that life had to interfere with my reading! I would recommend this one to all who like romance with adventure.

Ever since Lady Grace Walsingham discovered her uncle and sister are spies for the Crown, she has yearned for adventure. She’s counting the days until she can leave barbaric Scotland behind, even if she must endure Highland captain Fagan Murray’s company for weeks.

Fagan has a simple mission: escort the haughty Lady Grace back to England. But nothing is ever easy. The sharp-tongued woman needles him at every turn. But when a menacing threat follows them on their journey, Fagan’s grudging tolerance for Grace turns to respect…and into a perilous attraction that could seal their fate.

I love reading boxed sets with multiple authors so that I can become aquainted with more authors. All of those sharing stories in this set are wonderful story tellers and don’t disappoint!. I enjoyed every novel included here. The legends and magical atmosphere of Scotland are fascinating and totally involve my imagination and keep me spellbound.

SUMMIT OF DESIRE by Elena Aitken

I really liked this book. I love how Elena Aitken starts each new series by bringing in old friends from the last series and we can keep up with them! We first met Malcolm and Kylie as a couple in Eden having a romantic getaway. Now Kylie is wondering what to do with her life and feeling changes need to be made but wondering if Malcolm can still fit into her life with the changes she is contemplating. Hard choices for any of us to make! Do I stay here with the one I love and give up my dream to go and do something else? Do I go and loose the love of my life? How can I have both or will I end up with neither? Ms Aitken does an excellent job again bringing her characters to life.

Elena Aitken is a beautiful story teller!! I love her style and her stories. This one especially touched me. It’s a charming love story with all the new feelings of falling in love for the first time. I’ve read some books where all the angst of a troubled relationship is really unbelieveable. This book just felt real! And for first time in a long time, I cried at the end.

The only reason Bria Sheridan was at the Springs resort was to save her grandmother from being swindled out of all her money. And the only reason she agreed to stay and give the place a chance was because she loved her grandmother. That and…she didn’t really have any other place to go. In fact, if she didn’t turn in a killer photo assignment, she’d lose her job completely.

Head chef for the resort, Jax Carver never stays in one place very long, and it’s about time he thought about moving on again, especially since he’s starting to care about the people he’s met in Cedar Springs. But before he goes, he might as well help the dark haired, beauty who clearly has a chip on her shoulder that he’d love to knock off.

Bria needs a photo spread that will save her career and Jax can help her get it. What she doesn’t need is the undeniable attraction between them, unless of course they can both keep it casual with no expectations. And that’s a lot to gamble on, especially since neither of them are counting on having any real feelings. But when those feelings are put to the test, will their connection be strong enough to save them? Or will the chance for love be lost for good?
